Strolling in Siena

Piazza Salimbeni

This week I am offering a short photo-essay. After four days in Florence, I traveled to city of Siena. This small hill-top town in Tuscany is one of my Italian favorites. It has a fascinating history, which I will explore in the next two posts, but let's start with a stroll around the center of town. I arrived on a Monday afternoon, around 3 PM, and headed straight for the Campo, Siena's Main square.

After a brief rest back at my hotel, I ventured out at sunset for dinner. I headed to Ristorante Taverna di Cecco. This wonderful restaurant offered a range of Tuscan fare. I opted for the Boccocini di Vitelo all Sense (Veal stew). It was wonderful.

On the way home I took the opportunity to take some night photos of Siena.
